The cutting board that’s kind to your wrists, and to your food
Food-grade silicone. Soft under the blade, non-slip on the counter, and it folds with one hand to pour.
The cutting board that
doesn’t add “micro-anything” to your food
Most flexible cutting boards are plastic, and plastic sheds — every knife stroke leaves particles behind in your food. The Prep + Pour is food-grade silicone: stable, non-reactive, and it holds its integrity under the blade.
Same flexibility. None of the contamination.

Your questions answered!
Is silicone safe to use as a cutting board?
Yes. Food-grade silicone is a non-reactive, stable material that does not shed particles when cut. It's widely used in food preparation equipment, medical devices, and baby products precisely because of its safety profile. It is BPA-free and non-toxic.
Do plastic cutting boards actually cause microplastic exposure?
Research suggests yes. Studies have found that cutting on plastic boards can release plastic particles into food, with flexible plastic boards tending to shed more than rigid alternatives due to their softer surface. A 2023 study estimated that plastic cutting board use could contribute hundreds of thousands of microplastic particles to a person's annual diet.
Is a silicone cutting board as durable as wood or plastic?
Silicone is highly durable and doesn't warp, crack, or degrade with normal use and washing. It won't harbor the surface bacteria that can develop in the knife grooves of wooden boards. It is dishwasher safe and does not require the periodic oiling or resurfacing that wood boards need.
Can you use any knife on a silicone cutting board?
Yes. Silicone is safe to use with chef's knives, paring knives, and most standard kitchen blades. The surface is soft enough to be gentle on knife edges — comparable to a plastic board, and easier on edges than harder surfaces like glass or ceramic.
How do you clean a silicone cutting board?
Silicone cutting boards are dishwasher safe (top rack). They can also be washed by hand with dish soap and warm water. Unlike wood boards, silicone doesn't absorb odors or stain easily, and it doesn't require special care to maintain its surface.
